An Executive Seminar was held on “Establishment of National Spatial Data Infrastructure for Bangladesh” at Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka on October 09, 2021. It is organized by Ministry of Defense with cooperation of Survey of Bangladesh and JICA. Chief guest was Dr Ahmad Kaikaus, Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary and Special guests were Dr. Md. Abu Hena Mustafa Kamal, ndc, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Mr. ITO Naoki, Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh, Surveyor General of Bangladesh and JICA Experts. They addressed the importance of NSDI Project for Planning and Monitoring of different projects in Bangladesh and It can reduce lack of sharing, duplication, redundancies and lack of knowledge to use spatial data. NSDI can assist government‟s aim of bringing government services to the doorsteps of people. urvey of Bangladesh and JICA. Chief Guest was Brigadier General Habibul Haque, Psc, Surveyor General of Bangladesh and Special Guest was Mr. Bokuro URABE, the Chief Advisor of NSDI Project, JICA. Surveyor General expressed the progress of the project and he mentioned that NSDI is an umbrella of policies, standards and procedures under which organizations will interact to foster more efficient use, management and production of spatial data.
